X-eBit, the Project Exhibition and Competition organized every year by the Department of Computer Science, Christ University, provides a platform for the postgraduate students to showcase their academic project work. X-eBit 2016, organized on 23rd February 2016, witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation from the students of IV semester Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and II semester MSc Computer Science (CS).123
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Johny Joseph, Controller of Examinations, Christ University. He pointed out the importance of Computer Architecture projects in our day to day life and motivated the students for their active participation by displaying their projects. More than fifty students of MCA and MSc CS with high spirit of competition and zeal participated in the exhibition. 16 project implementations in the areas of Computer Architecture and 8 project implementations in the areas of Advanced Data Base Management System were showcased. Some interesting projects included a Structure Detection and 2D Modeling, Quad copter as IOT, Unmanned Level Crossing, Food grain waste Detection System, Smart Green House, GSM based Garbage Collector, Automatic controlling of Street Light, Automatic Irrigation system using GSM Technology, Automatic Fire sensing and Extinguishing Robot, Density Based Traffic Controller, Vehicle antitheft Tracking System and Make my service.
The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts Mr. Norton Stanley, Senior software engineer, IBM India Software Labs and Mr. Senthil Kumar B, Senior developer, Think Money Group, Manchester. One of the judges remarked that “These students have a bright career ahead of them” and the energy and passion they have is very infectious.
